Style Journal: Five Outfits I Wore at Coachella 2019

And just like that, Coachella 2019 came and went. The Indio arts and music festival marks the beginning of festival season, kicking off live music weekends around the country.

Simply put, all eyes and ears were on Coachella for the past two weeks, and that’s because every year, thousands of artists, musicians, photographers, tastemakers and professional wanderers, bound by the love of good music and great times, descend onto the desert in Indio, California to experience and document every bit of their Coachella experience.

When it comes to festival style, Coachella is the epicenter of it all. In today’s post I’m recapping all of my looks from Weekend 1 at Coachella 2019 in hopes that they serve you as inspiration for all of your festival looks this year.

Day one kicked off with a pool party hosted by Chinese Laundry so putting together a look was a breeze. I paired a colorful striped swim short from Topman, which conveniently offered a matching revere shirt, with chunky sneakers from Christian Louboutin and my favorite “go with everything” Ray-Ban sunglasses.

My second look was all about this statement shirt from Mr Turk. It combined two mid-century modern prints, which I found to be fitting for Palm Springs, and the fit is baggy and airy which allowed a breeze to flow through providing great ventilation and making it very comfortable to wear all day. I paired the shirt with ripped denim shorts, black and white Old Skool Vans sneakers and yellow-tinted sunglasses. Lastly, I threw on a Coach mini crossbody bag to carry my phone, wallet and other belongings.

For my next look, I paired a red, white and blue shirt from Topman with white skinny distressed Dr. Denim jeans, and red, white and blue Christian Louboutin sneakers. On this day, temperatures were schedule to drop into the evening, so I completed the look with a leather biker jacket from Coach.

LOOK 4: For The Love Of Paisley

The teardrop-like motif commonly known as paisley has been around for centuries but nothing about this print feels dated. And that is particularly accurate with this Topman scarf shirt. The material is super soft and comfortable and the color-way is spot-on for the desert. I paired my paisley scarf print shirt with white distressed jeans and chunky Coach sneakers that reminded me of the desert sand.

LOOK 5: Prints On Prints

For my final look, I paired a sleeveless rock tee from Forever21 with statement trousers from Mr Turk. Once again, this mid-century modern print matched my Palm Springs surroundings perfectly. The best part about these trousers is that they have no lining which gave them extra breathability. I completed the look with a mix-media sneaker from Coach.
