A Raincoat To Wear On Dry Days

The original raincoats from back in the day were coated in dissolved rubber which made them stiff and heavy and quite uncomfortable to wear. These days, this single-breasted waterproof coat is more lightweight, breathable, and versatile than ever.

Sure the purpose of a raincoat is to carry you through years of showers and downpours, but you don’t want to buy one and then wait around for bad weather. Wear the damn thing. Invest in a storm-defying three-quarter-length raincoat so stylish that soon your spring and summer outfits won’t feel complete without it. Even when the sun’s out.

You probably think of bright yellow when you think of raincoats, but companies such as Stutterheim offer a great assortment of classic colors, styles, and pattern to choose from. Don’t think too much about getting one that matches everything you plan to wear with it–just get one you like and go for it.

It’s defiantly cheerful to break out one of these coats when the weather turns foul.

How To Wear It

When buying a raincoat, remember you’ll be wearing a full outfit under it so make sure you have enough room, especially in the shoulder area. Some people like a fitted coat while others prefer theirs to hang a bit looser. There’s no wrong way of wearing it, just make sure its easy, relaxed, and lightweight.

What you do want, is to find one that’s cut at the knee or higher. Any longer and you look like a pervy flasher. As for pants, give your outfit pants with a bit of breathing room, and for shoes, swap the costumey rain boots for a pair of sneakers or rubber-soled wingtips.
