Weekend Happenings Pt. 2

This weekend was the ETRO Spring Collection Launch Event at Bloomingale’s in Santa Monica, hosted by Jae Joseph of Freide+Co. Of course, being the avid fan of bright hues, I had to stop by. The collection was everything I’d expected, but still so much more. It infused bright, lively, energetic colors into kaleidoscopic patterns and paisleys with classic men’s tailoring. A true burst of cheerfulness in every piece.

As soon as I walked in, my eyes immediately targetted a pair of blue, orange and yellow paisley swimming trunks. They’d be perfect for a weekend getaway in St. Barts. The jackets also couldn’t go unnoticed. The silhouettes were slim and impeccable and the fabrics were charged with brilliant shades of summer colors. But of course, my absolute favorite were the elegant and breezy accessories. The light and floaty scarves, some embellished with colored tassels, the bags with natural leather edging, and the unmistakable colorful paisley pocket squares.

The truth is, whether you love color or not, there is something for every men in the new ETRO Spring 2012 collection.

Correspondence from TOM FORD

Yesterday I received a nice little surprise in the mail: an invite from the TOM FORD boutique in Beverly Hills that read:

“The ultimate in service and luxury, come experience the new Tom Ford Spring/Summer 2012 Menswear Collection.”

I’m sure this invite went out to multiple people, but it made me feel special nonetheless. Ford epitomizes luxury, and he makes sure thats reflected in everything he puts his name on. The invite was an image of one of his S/S ads printed on super high-gloss, extra thick card-stock with a gold edge around it and gold foil embossed lettering.

très chic

PS: The answer is yes, I will be stopping by to experience the new collection. I’ll let you know how that goes.
