Shopping the Marni at H&M collection was a good time. This is one of the outfits I put together from the stuff I bought.

Yesterday was March 8th, which for a lot of fashionistas meant one thing — (all together now) Marni at H&M! My friend and I had the opportunity to shop the collection the night before at an exclusive private Marni at H&M shopping event held at the Sunset Blvd store in Los Angeles.
However, we still decided to line up yesterday morning to document the excitement that is shopping designer collaborations at a fraction of the designer’s regular prices. The collaborations of high-end labels with chic affordable retailers has been a huge success and a big trend the last couple of years. Marni was no exception.
Within an hour of the store opening its doors, racks — and even mannequins — were picked clean. Every shopper was given a wristband with a specific time block in which they’d be allowed to shop at most 2 of each like item for a maximum of 15 minutes. Sure 15 minutes seems like not enough time, but when everyone is moving at the speed of your DVR’s FFW during commercials, 15 minutes actually feels more like a lifetime.
All-in-all, H&M seems to finally have a grip on the situation and a good system in place for these anticipated shopping events. They’ve figured it out since the Cavalli for H&M mayhem back in 2007. OMG remember that? Anyway, check out the video and leave comments below.

Marni at H&M Lookbook
World renowned fashion photographer, Josh Olins, shot the beautiful and elegant Marni at H&M lookbook. The collection is set to debut at select H&M stores on March 8th.
I was a little disappointed when I saw how little print was incorporated into the men’s collection. It’s Marni! However all the mens jacket did win me over. The entire women’s collection and accessories are to die for.

Upcoming H&M Designer Collaboration: Marni
H&M has announced, and confirmed directly to STYLE BLVD, that their next designer collaboration will be Marni. The collection will be comprised of tribal prints mixed with colorful Bauhaus graphics and will encompass womenswear, menswear, jewelry, shoes, bags, and scarves.
The collection will hit 260 H&M stores worldwide and online on March 8, 2012.
